Hi,

Need a basic but good digicam (no need for stills) to shoot family/birthdays and holidays etc. Nothing too fancy cos I'll be editing via apple's iMovie and add some simple mucic as background. The most my budget can stretch to is under 2k but I really need a good reason if I do this.

2nd question -Should I stick to miniDV? I keep my tapes in a electronic drybox and they seem fine.

Or should I just stick to my aging Canon MV4iMC?
