Sony Carl Zeiss 24-70 F2.8 vs tamron 28-70

Hahaha... Yes I know I know...

I wasn't a professional before... and always wanted 80-200 f2.8 APO HS... during my days when I just started working... I always keep looking at it and lurking at it... duh... that pissed me off...

If I don't feel anything and can be so practically about it... I probably don't see the need...

Gosh... when I bit the bullet and put my hand around it... well... It was the best feeling at that time... and I can count the moments that everytime I look at the lens and using it... Just wasn't worth my time not buying it at the first place...

As professional, I never feel that excited to buy a piece of new gear as it is always a need than want... I just head out and buy... no kick really... though recently I set my heart on a vintage scooter... and... uhm... still haven't got it... darn!!!

Anyway... CZ is the answer...

On a non-related topic, haaha I do understand what you felt. Sigh, a want vs a need. Sometimes getting something you want gives you much better satisfaction than getting something you need. Till now, I am still looking and lurking at it, till the right time...

it really comes down to the fact that, can you spare that amt of money to get the CZ? If can, by all mean go ahead ;)

Personally, I would very much prefer getting the tamron 28-70, and dump the rest on a CZ prime... :D

I think its a natural progression to want to go for better lens once you start indulging in serious photography. As some Bros pointed out, CZ are very good lens in term of optics and sharpness but personally, the prices are too high for me to justify getting them. At this moment, my Tamron 28-75, Sony 16-105, Sigma 75-300 suits my A700 pretty well, and until I go into full frame, I may then consider getting better optics like CZ or G lens. My point here is if you owns a good FF camera, then you may seriously consider getting good lens to complement it. Just my 2 cents worth.:)

also put resale value into consideration, CZ value vs the rest

Heh tot CZ meant for keeping one leh haha.

Residual value probably make sense to consider if you only foresee yourself using the asset for a period of time.

Guess for most of us , its use it as long you outgrown it ba . But i agree , CZ holds it value better than 3rd party lens largely due to its high fiirst hand price.
