which model? i feel the 50D or 40D feels quite solid leh, even 500D is ok. i think our Alpha looks more plastic.

I also has 1 funny experience.
Go outing with my friend, and he bring another guy with him. This guy is very young, a JC boy I think. Before my friend introduce us each other, When he saw my camera, the 1st words he say is "Ah, Nikon is crap!" I just smile and say, "yes Nikon is crap!" He is very happy heard what I say, and ask me to move to his brand. I answer him, never, I'm using Sony. And his words is "Sony too a crap!"
So, we go for photoshots, and I found lot of his works is underexposed or overexposed. So I ask him, why like that, can you read the meter? And guess what his answer
HAHA... i think the real crap is he himself. :thumbsd:
I'm using my A350, he mistaken my cam as one of the Nikon's cam
And his answer is: what meter?
He said he shoot in RAW, and can adjust the light later...
I also feel 50D is solid. But with the price of 50D, I also can reach A700 which also solid.
Never has experience hands-on with 500D, but 450D also plastic like A2xx/A3xx series. But compare 450D, sure I choose A350 (even my Nikon's friend also said the same thing).

No lah, the best is still to get the exposure right. The advantage of RAW is just that during processing you have more room for adjustments. If you really underexposed by a lot, it would be tough also although the final image quality would be better than those in JPEG format.

Yup... I am thinking the same. When I 1st saw the price of A500, I thought A550 should be at least 200 more. So should place it close to 1.5k. My jaw drop when Sony announce the price...

I predict revise price for A500 in the future, maybe after some old cams discontinue (you cannot sell A500 equal to A350 rite)
