Sony A850 Users, care to comments?

Hi guys,

Sorry to intrude but i got one question in regards to a850. Does it have tethering capability? As in, is it possible to connect the camera to a laptop/PC, shoot and make adjustments via the laptop/PC just like the A700? I am upgrading my body soon and I am contemplating of skipping A550 and go straight to A850. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Yes - A850 supports tethered shooting. I use it rather often. :)

Not entirely true... Some 3rd party lens have to be re-chipped when KM7D was released as posted in some online forums. Fortunately, my Tamron was OK.

as long as its alpha mount lenses, it will work.

Sony has not changed the alpha mount from Minolta in any way. Lenses made in 1985 will work on current Sony DSLRs, and alpha lenses made by Sony today will work on Minolta SLRs from that era as well.

These are mostly the older Sigma lenses. So far my previous Tamron lenses have no problem.

Ya, so far all my 12 yr old Tokina lenses are ok too.

You are lucky bro. My Tokina gave me a hell of problems and the agent was not able to resolve my problem too. Eventually I gave up and sold them away.

Wah, really ? I should count my blessing in this case ;)

Me too, HDD space is getting very limited ever since. I depends on what I'm snapping. Serious shoot for events, RAW mode & if causal walkabout shoot, i do it in X.Fine.

Hello,

I shoot cRaw which is more than enough for its intend and purposes.

Get more HDD is the answer.

Ha...ha. No lah, I still see quite a few people using the lens leh. Can't be ancient lor. Guess I'm suay.

Which Tokina lens?

Both my Tokinas and my Tamrons works perfectly .... well ... the Tamron 20-40 is a bit back focused .... but then at full frame, wide angle doesn't really matter.

You need to get a 1.5TB external for your RAW files. For me, I using cRAW with JPG (S). Transfer to RAW to a Bluray disc (I haven't buy drive yet :bsmilie:) and the jpg file for uploading, smaller n upload faster. :o

Tokina 80-200mm f2.8 ATX

Tokina 80-200mm f2.8 ATX

There are 2 ATX versions... one is much older than the other if I don't recall wrongly??? I think it's the later version which is compatible and not the earlier version...
