Was a polarizer being used? I have this problem when using polarisers.

Nice lens :-)

Nice bokeh and pretty model :)

Got the dreamy look... ahhh

Thanks guys.

She was a good model, pretty, nice to work with and experienced.

Great shot but personally find the bokeh behind a bit distracting and busy. This is the lens after the famous green star A 85 f1.4?

Thanks.
Can't say I agree on the bokeh, but its certainly personal. :)
Yes, the FA*85 is after the A*85 (the green star).

I never done model shoot before and I am lousy at using Speedlight/flash aka lighting hehe so mostly I shoot with natural lighting :-(

More of Summilux-80 on A7r

This one I had hard time focusing through the display glass and lighting was poor plus family behind you all waiting (pressure) :-(

Yes just a personal opinion cos a bit distracting for me. Still technically everything is great and the model certainly looks good.
Always dream of A* 85 f1.4 except the price seems unattainable compared to both the Contax 85 f1.4 and the Nikon 85 f1.4.

Nikon AF or AIS version? Nikon AFS 85 f1.4G is very sharp with very good bokeh but not as creamy as Minolta MD 58 1.2

There's no MD 58/1.2. Only MC Rokkor 58/1.2. MD is 50/1.2... :bsmilie:

Hi

Never really owned AF lenses. I had 2 AIS 85 f1.4 and 1 Contax 85 f1.4. All sold cos seldom use. Rather use the MD 85 f2.0 due to size.
If can find a A* 85 f1.4 at reasonable price around $1k, will give a try but that is just a dream so far. Looking for a good copy 90mm R cron also....
Now using Contax 100 mm f2.0 as staple lens for that FF.

Nice shot bro. However theres something about the FD/Sony colour which I find not so ideal. Not too sure if this is JPEG or RAW converted but somehow the skin tone doesnt seem right.
Seems to be a prob since the early Nex 5 days. I couldnt get the right colour while Fuji straight out of camera JPEG with their lens looks so much better.
Just an observation on the lens/sensor combo. And a baby is a joy to photo. Keeps all the great memories.

Sony when it comes to skin tone for photos OOC seem not very accurate that's one of the biggest feedback I always hear from others. Actually it's true comparing it to Oly , Canon and Pentax.

I have access to the A*85, but never compared the two.
The FA* has AF on my Pentax cameras, so I got that instead.
The A*85 is not common, buyers usually have holding power (not the buy+sell types) and it holds its price as it works natively on the Pentax cameras.

I think its the FD+Sony combi that is like this.
Cooler colour on the FD lenses, plus yellow tint on the Sony skin tones.
Same thing on my FD lenses.
I somehow feel that folks in more temperate climes seem to get the right 'look' out of them though (Sunlight temp that suits a cooler look? non Asian skin tones? PP? ... no idea)

Hehe I am a lazy photog who usually shoots JPEG and awb. In this case it was a bit tough for the awb cuz of the sunlight from the windows behind and the indoor artificial lights that were on.

But agree that Sony skin tones for portraits are not the best, the canon 5d series in my view does skin tone much better, not because of wb accuracy, but their tendency to be biased towards the red frequency that makes the skin tones nice
