yes that could be the one that causing it... last time I have this very old fast prime that I noticed there's a dot in the middle of the bokeh balls I find out the 1st element has a dust big enough that it cause it I have it cleaned and it's gone. That could be oil (I hope not) or some dust only. You could have it check/cleaned, can check the iris blades specially the sides if there's any traces of oil?
