Sony constantly overexposes with flash both bounce and direct. Have had long history with sony.

Some tips: set flash exposure compensation to -1, exposure compensation set to ambient only (default is ambient + flash)
Learned this from one of gary friedmans books. Seems to be applicable across sony's mirrrorless and slt cameras. I've had much better consistent results since applying this settings.

Tks... Will set this up till my white plastic diffuser comes for the HVL-20M...

Thanks.. I find that my keeper rate shooting with MF in sea aquarium is higher than AF.
