Friends commented when they tried the a7 with 35mm that even random snapshot looks good.

I think so too. Especially on A7R, as this is one of the few lenses that could optimise the 36mp resolution, and the sharpest 35mm that I have used. Yet it is small and light.

Definitely a keeper.

hehe i find it hard to shoot from the hip with manual focus and moving objects

Yeah... But practise makes perfect. Sharing more hip shots. Found some rather good IQ from this lens and A7 combo...

Some shots of Bishan park wildlife this morning. Using A7r, LA-EA4, Sony 70-400G

Can anyone show me how A7 looks with this 10-18?

looks like a nicer version of the 28-70 kit lens but smaller and shinier. A7 not too different in size to NEX just has a hump

Small profile and extremely light. Too bad lens hood cant be used.

Thanks guys for showing. Looks nice n compact. So it gives about 20 mm FOV compared to the 24-70 which is 24? How much different is 24 mm on FF versus 20 mm on crop APSC mode? What do you mean when the rear baffle is removed?

For the 10-18mm, will there be significant vignetting if a filter is used?

With a filter you will need to zoom in morekto 14/15mm to avoid vignette. That's based on my cheap hoya filter. Maybe better with a slimmer one

It gives u full frame fov from 12mm - 18mm. Use in full frame mode not apsc mode. Google for Sony/sigma lens rear baffle removal and you will see

The baffle is the plastic at the rear of the lens with a rectangular window opening to cover innards do the lens.

10-18 will remain 10-18 on full frame. On ASPC , it would be 15-24 approximately. This lens is definitely wider than 24mm on full frame

So I can use the SEL1018 E mount on the A7 in FF mode and get no vignetting from 12 mm to 16 mm FOV? (based on what I googled on internet) What does removal of rear baffle do to this? Thanks

since we're on the SEL1018 discussion, here is a panorama I took this morning. 12 images A7R in portrait orientation. Shot in APSC crop mode as I didn't need the BIG files
