currently using a hawk's factory heilcoid adaptor, but any good solid adaptor will work. the 75 1.8 is a pretty light and small lens with the a7.

this was taken about a week back

Thank bro for the advise.... tio poison already...... kekekeke....

Finally took my Rokkor 135mm 2.8 out today to shoot, some shares below shot at wide open. Acceptably sharp considering I got it for less than 100 bucks few years ago :)

Panning failed end up shaking a bit , hence losing sharpness

Wow, amazing what the SEL 10-18 can do considering its design for a APS-C sensor.
And the weight and size of it....

very nice pictures! noob question, so when using this lens, do you need to shoot in apsc mode or FF mode?

The 5 I've posted are all taken with apsc crop mode in 'off' hence FF.

thanks! so the effective focal length is 10-18mm?

usable between 13-16 without black corners, quite ok from 12mm actually. remove the rear baffle and it will work fine from 17-18

thanks for the clear explanation.. appreciate it .:)

12mm I would go B&W esp for those Long Exposure minimalistic style because of the 'natural' vignetting. The ability to use filters from 12mm - 14mm is like 'priceless' lol

Tried the kit lens @ GBTB, it lacking the width to fit in the super trees nicely... considering 1018 or adapt cheaper amount FF uwa.

view from flower dome ( with kit lens )

Candid shoot from the hip series...

Looking at some of the photos, it seems like the A7 series seem to rock big time with architecture and landscape shots. But when you look at the people or portrait shots...they all tend to look soft and pretty grainy. Does anyone share my view?

i think it depends on the iso used and subject matter movement. no reason how IQ should differ for different subject matters.

when i am shooting candids at night, higher iso has to be used to compensate for the people moving and also lower light levels, hence more grainy. for buildings, tripods can be used at night, and in the daytime of course low iso can be used.

the other reason is simply for portaits lenses with F1.1-1.8 etc all have shallow DOF. so errors in focusing are more apparent

pretty much very happy with shots of my family using the A7 kekeke but not gonna share family pics here.
