After I saw your pics and Drawde's pics using the 10-18 lens I had to get it and removed the baffle as well. :p Really wonderful shots. :) What were the focal distance you shot with? any lightroom correction?

hi!

i kept the baffle on for my 10-18 as i tend to use it at the widest available focal lengths rather than 17-18mm. so the baffle removal is not required for my usage. i usually use 12-13mm.

no lightroom correction, but i use adobe CS6 lens distortion correction at a setting of -6 to -11 depending on the shot/angle.

i would not use a filter as it will cause vignette at 13mm too. means the lens only vignette free from 14mm onwards.

did you buy new or 2nd hand hehe

icic! thank you so much for sharing, appreciate it! :) unfortunately brand new, very illusive lens to get 2nd hand, no one is giving it up. haha.

I removed the baffle and shot in full frame mode, used the lens correction I downloaded, and quite impressed with the results at 12mm to 14 mm.

For the 16mm to 18mm, there isn't much need for correction.

Will be away for a week and will post the results from my trip. :)

Had a visit to the SEA aquarium. Really looked forward to testing it out under really low light environment. Here's some better shots:

Just some comments. Most of the shots were taken under AUTO mode and most of these in focus were slow moving fishes. I didn't manage to most of the fast swiming coral fishes in focus, even with tracking focus under burst mode, i seldom get focus and composition in good balance. I found i get better shots if i locked focus and wait for the fishes to move into position.

But really, the colors were true what was seen with the my eyes and i was the few with mirrorless. It was also the first time in my life that i saw so many DSLRs in a place ( never been to any gatherings/conventions) and everyone was with their big ass DSLR and tripods and flashes. lol.

Somehow, the look seemed almost film-like.

Two shots of Taipei 101 during my recent trip to Taiwan. Taken with Konica Hexanon AR 40.

This cityscape shot struck a chord with me. The cityscape horizon , great composition imo. Always wanted to try out the hexanon lenses but not sure how well they would work with the a7r, especially the 28mm. Some shots on flickr have been encouraging though.

Just wait'll you see what your 135 can capture with that method! ;)

It will b interesting to try but wif this focal length I dun even need to b so discreet ya?

Depends on what/whom you're shooting and the physical size of the lens.

If you're into Pentax glass and snooping from a distance, here's one of the smallest 300mm f/4's ever made for full-frame, wickedly sharp in the center, but got some mild PF issues in the periphery:

Tatz an evil glass there. LOL. I m new to these SLR legacy lenses like Minolta and Pentax. Din expect them to work so awesomely well on the A7. The 135/2.5 is not very big for this focal length as compared to others but I am really blown away by its IQ and Bokeh. Then again, it is widely known that a good 135mm lens is not very difficult to build as compared to UWA and 35mm.

Thanks bro for the comment. Hexanon lenses are nice but it is not really sharp wide open and tend to have a glowing effect if used wide open. So far I only have 40, 50 and 135 but mostly used 40, maybe it is because of the FL.

Not sure how it performs in A7R, you have to try it. Don't forget to feedback here as well. :-)

Sharing some shots from Orchard. Shot using CV35/1.4 and Nikon 50/1.4 AI.
