Still having fun with FE 55/1.8... River Hong Bao at Floating Dock

Guess yr bad experience from zeiss UWA stemmed from d rf biogons. Sad some review d zeiss 15/2.8 is also working perfectly on d A7/Rs.

Next better option. Zeiss 15/2.8. 6k nia.

I think the Biogon 21mm is a fine lens. Its just that its not working with the A7R. I'll probably be happier with the lens if I was using an M body.

I assume you were referring to the Distagon 15mm f/2.8 ZM? Well, I first need to get rid of my 15mm ZF.2 version first. Looking at the price, the WATE is really quite a bargain since I don't need f/2.8. I wish they bring in the set without the franken finder though.

Probably switching to Leica M240 might b a wider option? Prices seemed to b dropping. Haha

No thanks. For now, I stick to the D800E for wide angles. I still got to consider my T/S lenses.

Worried your 55FE not as sharp? Same one lah.

It should be easier for your A7 + 55FE to grab sharper photos than my A7R. But like most users mentioned, you need slightly more stable holding to grab sharp shots with the 55FE, or increase the speed a bit more than 1/60. I am quite comfortable with 1/60 as used to heavier M9P + chrome 50lux, as well as D800E with 35mm ART.

Don't think you have a lemon set, as Sony Zeiss QC quite good.

Rokkor is irreplaceable. Haha. Can't see eye lashes? Come come. Lend me yr copy n compare. Haha

So it's me... LOL... I m using 1/125 liao... Keke...

Haha... easy to check whether it is you or the lens problem.

Shoot with a tripod on something stationery. Especially something with lines or wordings. Shoot again without tripod.

If the photo with tripod is a lot sharper than without, then it is your holding/posture issue.

If the photo with tripod is about same sharpness as without, then you are fine.

If the photo without tripod is a lot sharper than with tripod, then there are 2 possible reasons:

- either you are the Olympic Winner for sharp shooter or
- Singapore has slight tremor going on when you shoot with tripod.

Conclusion, the 55FE is fine. No need to sell. Haha...
