depends on your budget and what is acceptable to you as closer focus..

some alternatives i can think of right now are;
close up filters
raynox conversion lens

I have one Vivitar Panagor 1:1 magnification macro lens going for. $250. SMS. me (978o3749) if you would like more information or to view the lens. Very nice lens in my opinion. Selling because 180mm is more suitable for my needs which I acquired recently. You can view my 500px.com/kiawui or Instagram. Com/kiawui and search for images with tag Panagor to view images shot with this lens.

Initially I thought I will need a wide lens for this. Turns that that it works the other way round.

i think he use filter, can see his exposure much much longer

Looks great! Did you use a filter? What were the setting used?

Nope. no filters. it was done with 2 shots, the background was exposed for 25 sec, and the fireworks was only for 5 seconds, combine the 2 image and you have a properly exposed scene.

im using mostly minolta glass on the A7 primarily because of the color rendition.

ah i see so the fireworks is another layer? the water is smother than mine

same concept.. 2 image, 1st image is a 25sec exposure of the background shot a few minutes earlier and the actual fireworks shot at a different exposure at 5 sec only.

Taken last night Sony A7+ Konica Minolta 11-18 at 14mm at Water Sports Hub near the National Stadium.
I can use other lenses on the A7 such as the sony SAL 16-105 in a-mount but in crop mode only, it is a sharp lens but i still prefer the colour rendition of the minolta. also the minolta lens is a lot lighter compared to most ultra wide lenses and very much usable as 14mm and above in full frame mode and since it an a-mount lens, i got it very cheap a few years back.

Taken last night with A7ii and FE16-35.. don't have the nice long exposure as I moved the zoom focus and didn't have one to overlay!
