I just bought an A7ii a couple of days ago.

Can I ask how you guys get such deep beautiful colors?

And the white balance on this camera is quite whacky I must say.

a few options.

use a polarizer for deep blue skies

shoot at the correct / best time when the sun is behind you and lighting up the subject/landscape

shoot in raw and tweak the white balance to taste

shoot in raw and increase the vibrance and clarity settings.

whacky white balance? cant tell you mean good or bad hehe....

Thanks Ricleo! I have been following you on Flickr the last few months :D

Okay, looks like the same kind of things that I do. Yes the AWB at least on my pictures gives off a yellow tint that I don't see in yours. Need to either shoot in raw and correct it away. I have been spoilt previously in not needing to have to correct to such extent.

Each camera brand will have their way on calculating the AWB therefore, some will good and bad in some lighting condition. Sony A7 AWB is a bit warm so the easiest way to deal with it is shoot RAW then reduce the temperature a bit during processing the RAW file.

My photo above was taken without any Polarized filter just the UV. I reduced the color temperature during convert the RAW from Capture One Pro. No Vibrant adjustment, too. Actually, I still leave the WB of that photo a bit warm to maintain the yellowish of the early morning sunlight.

Thanks much guys! Looks like no magic trick then! 😄
