Went down to Sony centre to try out the A7S. Tried a few shots and quite like it. But when I came back to see I find that the pic looks kind of noisy at ISO 3200. Not sure if it was any setting that I missed or what? Also I was on Aperture priority but was puzzled that the cam selected 1/8000 sec for the shot. Still considering before taking the plunge.

Had that same experience too. Did you tried yrs at orchard central ? I found it strange that the noise (esp color noise) was pretty obvious at iso3200 on the a7s. Tried to get the staff to explain to me why so and he couldn't answer. I then turned ON the NR and the pics became better obviously. but I feel the much touted low light ability of the a7s didn't wow me after I tested. I could be wrong though...am now using a7r and don't see any noise problems yet. Will bring it to shoot in low light area to see how it handles in that kind of environment. maybe a7s users can explain here ?

I tried it at Funan. I am looking for a camera that has good ISO capability and at this moment I think this is hands down the best around. Was amazed with the focus peaking though. It is making using manual lens a breeze. Was initially considering the Nikon DF. But seems like A7S is better in many aspects. I do not have much Nikon lens. So easier for me to switch.

And now there is A7RII coming out. But the price is sky high and I dont think the 42mp file is good to deal with although you can do a lot of cropping from that sensor. But it would be a pain to import 100 files or more into LR.

Hi, does anyone knows if we can use the Sony FE lens on Nikon APS-C cameras? I am planning to get the A7 series cam but cannot make up my mind whether to get the A7S or wait for the A7RII. So thinking of getting the lens first.
