Sony A7 II

Grey sets does not come with manufacturer warranty. If your set is lemon, then good luck ?de02

My point is if you are willing to pay $1.4K to buy used set, why not pay $1.5K+ to buy NEW grey set, with one year shop warranty?
Lemon set? Higher chance to get problematic set in used market(if you don't check properly) than NEW grey set ba...

For me, even I got new camera (RX10 mk4), I still using my A850 and A7r mk1. Each got their pros and cons, no need to chase till the latest unless you are rich and got a lot of glass to play with the body. For me, can use, use till cannot and then get a body that suits me, no need the latest as always.

But I see online Sony Facebook those professionals are using mostly 5DM4 or A7Riii and the photos are amazing if it is only camera why would they get the latest gadgets pardon me but I feel the A7ii is only 24mega pixels and the pics I took are crap sigh

They edited it like mad and not out of the camera la. Just like a car, get you from point A to B will do, you need a sport car, unless you can afford it else forget it. Btw, I even see people using DSLR but ended up P mode in the end.

P mode seriously?

P mode seriously?

Why not as they just want to let other know how "pro" they were. I ever come across someone claiming to be a photographer/videographer and yet asking what does the ev button does in FB.

Has anyone here replaced their Sony A7ii screen? I have a A7rii with a LCD screen that goes black at certain angles. Wondering about the cost involved.

The A7Riii is about $4,500 while the A7ii is about $1,800. At more than 2x the price, the A7riii should be better.

The more expensive means it is better? Seems like the A7Riii has better pic quality can see many dumping their A7ii in marketplace

As Ken Rockwell said, the more expensive the camera it means a more fancy camera. Can it take better pictures than a basic one? Technically a fancy camera take the same pictures but in fancy style.:) Life or business is such
that you pay 1 cent you get 1 cent worth of goods.

Ken said a 24Mp FF is the optimum resolution/size for FF anything more is fancy for normal shooters.Of course it's your choice if you want 42Mp and
willing to deal with huge image files but there is a trade off in that your camera has to take time to process in-camera or PP but with current PCs it's no problem..only money.

A7ii is a hobbyist camera meaning it satisfy the needs of a hobbyist but for a pro there are disadvantages like slow handling in the field or real life shooting like sports or even a wedding when you have to move fast. That's where a more expensive fancy camera has pro features like dedicated buttons/switches for frequently used settings like ISO,shutter speed,White balance, etc. The basic camera needs to be accessed via menu by the time you set it the moment /time is lost.Photography is about capturing the moment!
You can't take your sweet time fiddling with cursers/selectors and menus.
Also I read that A7ii can only do 270 shots per battery charge,I could be wrong?
A7Riii is 680 shots vs 1800 A7Rii?

By all means if you can afford it choose a expensive/fancy camera but first
know what features available in a model that you can use or is really essential for your photographic needs.

Why are others dumping their A7ii? Well it's human nature to want the latest and greatest gadget nothing wrong if you have money it gives them boasting rights and thrills.:)

Even if you have the latest and greatest and have not learned the basics or mastered the skills and knowledge then a fancy camera will not help you take better photos.Like people say cameras don't take pictures people do! So it's the person behind the camera with his/her "photographic eye" who has learned the rules of composition (rule of thirds), knows the basics of exposure like ISO, shutter speed and aperture plus the use of lenses eg. focal length and the field of view it can capture. Most importantly know how to see light or the direction of light to illuminate your scene or portrait or subjects then you have high probabilty of taking asthetically pleasing photographs. In other words success! In film days all is manual, people have to focus and compose as well as set exposure after pressing shutter button crank winder to next frame, you have it easy now but you still complain? :)

Read the A7ii review and ask yourself where are you lacking anything that prevent you from making better photographs? The answer you already know from the above comments. ;)

Sibei agree with you sia, hence I still holds the A7II unless gotta go sports and normally unless you are lousy photographer by all means take any shots but end up spend time edit this edit that just to suit your likings! Old film days those people with film still take shots as per normal but do you see them do editing lol. You can afford fancy things but if not needed why bother?
