Sony A7 camera straps

Basically something like this {just the hook) so i can attach the gariz neck strap to 2 of these and just hook onto the camera and when i need to switch to a blackrapid style strap, i just unhook instead of undoing all the leather buckles etc....takes long time.
Maybe i shall try Daiso tomorrow...

you can find them from ITW. they make mil spec webbing components. problem is a snap hook like this is too dangerous. you either scratch your camera or unlatch the hook.

We had the same idea but I would not recommend this if you clip it on the sides of the camera as the hooks will surely scratch the side edge of your camera as it did mine. You can however, do it with the Gariz solution where you attach the hooks via a ring screwed in the bottom of the camera or buy leather ring protectors for the clips to protect the side edges of the camera. http://www.gariz.com/front/php/category.php?cate_no=144 gunshot mode kit

I'll try to figure something out..I didn't want the Gariz gunshot mode because it's not "adjustable" like the Joby i use.
I prefer the Gariz as a next strap vs a gunshot strap.
i switch in between both quite often that's why i want something fast to remove the neck strap and switch to a sling strap on the fly. i will find a plastic hook so it doesn't scratch the body..the image i attached is actually from optech? it's a real camera strap they sell so i guess it should work.

The black paint of A7/R is easily scratched. I believe it will still get scratched even with plastic hooks after constant friction.

You might need to paste black tapes near to the hooks.

Exactly. It's like a black paint on top of a smooth metal surface with no proper sanding done in first and no primer to make the paint stick to the bare metal properly. It scratches and scrapes easily just like my Xperia ZU phone's screen.

Really ah? Yikes...then i better think twice...really so lousy ah the paint? I thought they would anadoize it so it wont come off...you mean it's normal paint only ah..so lousy

you can try looking at the store in the 1st floor of funan near the uob atm machine. they have a lot of options. but pricey.

Saw one just now. 70 bucks for d hand strap. Ex.

I am using Dsptch strap and the sling.

Interchangeable between wrist strap and sling easily because they use the same size universal plastic clasp.

Rugged and strong

No one using peak design leash/cuff?

I'm using the handstrap. Not as classy as those shown here, but does the job and is relatively cheap.

Have both blackrapid and carryspeed strap from my dslr days, but they don't balance the camera well when attached to my a7. So gave up and just got a small detachable handstrap for landscape and street works

I am thinking of getting the Gariz. However, would putting it in a dry cabi makes the leather dry up faster?

And if you clean and wax (after sweaty palm usage) the leather then place in dry cabi, I don't know what the wax will do to the lenses?

I don't think it will be an issue...how long do you intend to use it anyways :) a couple of year..i don't think the leather will dry up so fast...
I lve the case and strap in the dry box all the time...i won't be bothered about the leather...if it does spoil..change it :)

Just bought the Gariz half case. It adds a little bit more dimension to the A7 which makes it very nice to hold for my hands.

But one problem arises. My Markins plate now blocks the battery door from fully opening. Anyone knows of any Arca release plate that can fit on the Gariz case without having to remove it whenever you want to change battery.

Just got the Peak Design leash-cuff combo set yesterday ($45 for leash and $25 for cuff), am quite happy with it after my son recommended it. Tried and bought so many in the past but all were mainly disappointments. Probably not many will like it, but it fits what I'm looking for. However using it with a heavier setup might not be comfortable after prolonged use.
