Hi guys,
I'm planning on a honeymoon with the Mrs to Iceland in October this year, and I'm torn between choosing the A6500 and the A6300. Reason why I'm selecting a camera is because we would like to capture some Northern Lights when we are there, and also some nice photographs for our memories. For starters, the only other camera I've used is my cellphone, so I reckon that I have a lot to learn in these few months. I would appreciate any advice that I can get from you guys.
Price wise, the A6500 is retailing at Harvey Norman at $1,849 and the A6300 at $1,279. That's a price difference of $570. On top of that, I suppose i need to get a spare battery, a lens for astrophotography, a sturdy tripod and a camera shutter release (optional).
Is the additional USD415 justifiable for the improvements in the A6500? I wouldn't be inclined to pay additional for some features that I wouldn't be touching at all.
Also, which lens would you guys recommend for taking of astrophotography? My range for the lens would ideally be around $700 - is there one that fits the bill? If not, which is the best value lens out there for the Sony A6500/A6300 ?
As for the tripod, the weather in Iceland is erratic at best. Which tripod would you guys recommend ? Perhaps something sturdy, and yet not too expensive.
My apologies if my questions seem a little basic. But I would greatly appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
