Sony a33

the vlc player could not work... my video just freeze there with the sound playing....

My PC plays the HD movies with no issue using the VLC player.
You might want to upgrade your PC, HD movies do require considerable RAM, graphics card and processor.

Alternatively, get a HDMI cable to connect the DSLR to the TV. Works even better.

Maybe you just have a bad hinged unit :) I think it's normal to have over heating for this type of cam I used to own EPL1 mirrorless m4/3 and devicated live view since the sensor is always working it tends to heat up fast specially at bright hot day outside. I only have over heating problem with my EPL1 when outside under the sun. Yesterday also while testing my cam around noon i did saw the thermometer sign in my EVF I just turn off the cam while walking and just 2 mins I open up again and never saw the same warning again until i've finished my shot that was another 30mins or so...

yea..my hinge was all right throughout the whole time..didn't experience any gradual loosening at all..

haha..the A33 is gonna make me think twice before getting any ovf equipped camera in the future..their evf is totally convenient..

Actually, in bright sunny, daylight conditions ...I still prefer a good OVF but the EVF allows easier shooting in dark, lowlight conditions which would be almost impossible thru the OVF.

...the point is probably moot as I do 70% or more of my shooting with liveview.

It must be just the two of us but I do realize that also yesterday when I was shooting at noon and it was sunny and bright EVF still nice but I think thats where OVF shines. One thing I like with Sony EVF is the amound of info you can see.. sadly not all setting can be done while your eyes is on the EVF. :)

Not too sure about others but I have no problem in using the main LCD for liveview in bright daylight usage.
