can look in classifieds here. standard chartered jus gave like 100 free A33 for some lucky draw. so there could be ppl who dun wan it and it's first hand.

Im looking for M42-Sony AF confirm mount, which convert M42mount to sony A-mount with the AFconfirm chip.

I try searching for a shop in SG but hopeless.

I think ebay is your only bet. But that AF confirm chip doesnt mean you can do AF , this you are aware right ? But anyway, this post is OT la.

getting a33 tomorrow.. any functional checks i need to be aware of?

Oops.. found a problem using SLT with older manual flash... since the camera doesn't know that an external flash is attached, when the exposure settings are adjusted for correct exposure with the flash, everything appears very dark (or even black).

So.. i can't really focus well since i can't see well! Is there any work-around for this problem? (besides getting HVL-F58am!)

ensure... erm.... the battery fits, able to switch on, shutter release works, AF works, flash works.

I hate SCB and Sony too.. Being a A33 user and owner, i am angry because the resale value of my camera drop; but being a CS member, i'm also glad because more to jump on the bandwagon and go for Sony outings..

i know of someone who recently bought a Canon Rebel T3i and i'm happy to say that other than the fact that i would like the sensor on my camera, i would still have bought the A33.

i saw this website which i dun understand though.. no hotshoe adapter means i must get wad kind of flash? the ones that work for other sony cameras cannot use ah?

Actually for the greater good one more alpha user equal one less some other user. With a broader base, higher possibility of hvg Sony design more glass.

well so far the lowest 2nd hand body i have seen in B&S for the a33 is in the $550-$650 range.. an almost $200 drop from the previous 2 months when a second hand body is being sold for around $800=$850.

will still wait awhile though (when the a33's body resale value drop to below $500) till i consider getting either an a33 or the a55 as a 2nd body.

wow. an I Dee Ten Tee error.

press the left button on the D-pad that has the drive-modes/timer functions on it. then select single shot. it's the rectangle icon right at the top of the list of drive modes.

I am also considering getting a A33. Will wait till apr 11 for the announcement of the A35!

You *do* know the Canon sensor loses out to the sony sensor, right?

He menas it does not use the 100+ year old hotshoe and uses the minolta one. You can use any sony flash, or the "old" hotshoe mount with a $10 Yongnuo adaptor.

Don't read too much into whar Ken Rockwell says. What he says is great for lighthearted comedy, but that's it.

I don't know that the Canon sensor loses out to the Sony sensor, but i know the Sony sensor is the same (or similar) to Nikon's. But the my A33 ISO, FPS and other stuff win the Rebel hands-down. =D

oh. I only noticed that the flash mount is different when I went for a studio shoot workshop last Sunday. So if i get any TTL flash made for Sony or Minolta, it will still work?

Someone showed me this; i didn't even know of this Ken Rockwell before this, but the person did warn me not to take him seriously..
