haha... i already have my A700 and a A100 as backup for my wife, thinking that it's better to invest on lens than to get the A900 currently. So far no response about street price locally and Sitex don't carry lens at all... anyway.. think I'll got for some lens from NZ, think the 11-18mm and 500mm will definitely come in useful... praying that the exchange rate gets better over time..

u going NZ for holiday or?

Woot! NZ holiday... very very very very good for landscape photography... was there 4 years ago for a 20-day self-drive tour... fabulous landscape... mastermind, if you're going for leisure, I can pass you a comprehensive itinerary...

Anyone ever tried the 70-300G + Close up filter?

I ask becoz with such a smooth bokeh and sharp image, a CU filter can make it into a macro lens too. Anyway getting one come Friday and will try this combo with my Nikon 5T CU filter. Coincidently the 5T use 62mm thread too. Just nice:bigeyes:.

Just for fun did a brief test with Nikon 5T CU filter attached. Kinda challenging handholding as I was kinda tired lugging my equiptment earlier.

Resized and no PP.

100% Crop and no PP.

Simply just love the bokeh.
Image is 150mm @ F11 / ISO 1250 / No flash.

Another one without Cu filter at 300mm F11/ISO1000/No Flash. Image PP'ed and crop.

Lens with SSM damn sweet. For the price, definitely worth the premium!

Hmm.... works... but a bit noisy... and seems to have lost some detail... is that cos the flower highlights were blown? I find that reds on my 7D are a huge no-no... totally blown... not sure if that's the case for the A700 / A900 and any lens combo?

Noise due to sensor not the glass, I think. At ISO1250 plus DRO LVL 3 plus 100%, I guess inevitabily can see noise. But let's not be critical on that crap image, just highlighting the bokeh only.

No, no... just concerned that the red channel blows too easily as in the 7D... you know I can't take photos of red roses... arrghhh... it just comes out totally blown... I will post up the shots in a while... in another thread...

able to post some shots with aperture wide open?? being looking into this lens but abit wary of the slow aperture
