I think we should not buy any of sony lens. The strategy of pitching sony lens as the most "high end" or expensive lens will succeed if all of us cant tahan and start buying. For me, I will just keep my minolta lens and buy used KM lenses, there are enough to meet my needs.
IMO, sony's strategy works for P&S market but not for DSLR pro & semi pro market. we shall wait and see:think:

Hmmh...I can smell more unhappy KM/Sony users.
If Sony, don't do something to their pricing to make ppl happy, I believe more ppl
are going to move towards Pentax.
I think should boycott them and let them face a sudden drop in DSLR market sale at least in Singapore.
I believe majority Sony DSLR users have an account with CS.
Hope some Sony spokesman see this and tell their big boss.

4.5k can almost buy a D200 and a AF-S VR 70-200/2.8! Still have spare change if I pick the D80!!!
No prize for guessing how I will spend the $4.7k on.

Sorry.. misleading phrasing. Meant to say I will have spare change if I pick D80 + 70-200VR.
And will have to pay slightly more (couple of hundred) if I get D200 + 70-200VR.
But I am dann pissed off as a KM user and can't buy original 80-200/2.8 at a more affordable price. Don't we hope to have a 80-200/2.8 at $1.5k?

70-200 cost about 3 k ba, D200 cost 2.3 ba, D80 i dont know..nice gear to own i must say.
the minolta 80-200 was selling 2k last time, when sony WAS going to take over, it drop to 1300, then suddenly flew more then 2k plus! now the sony 70-200 is 4.5k! bad idea right
