bro, cz1680 is hailed as very good sharp lens, if you don't need zoom so much

why not keep it and get the 18250, since its not too ex?

Pending to purchase the Sony 18-250 and realise that Tamron 18-250 is available at slightly cheaper price.

Have anyone seen both lens and able to comment?

don't have both, but reviews say the sony has faster AF, IQ should be the same.
and of course sony after sales service is more reliable than tamron

For that little difference, I would suggest that you get the Sony version which has slightly better IQ.

Think I will get the Sony. One last quick question.. if possible, I read through the threads and its mentioned that Sony is cheaper than Tamron? On another thread its even suggested that a shop is selling cheaper at 10% discount over SRP. So far, after checking the prices around, I dun seems to find one shop that offer cheaper prices.

Hope can advice on the average price range to get the lens (thru PM if inconvenient here).

IQ wise shouldn't have difference, however, the AF speed of sony some review website said it's faster.. could juz be a feel good factor coz holding a sony lens..


some website reviewers gloss over the 2 lenses and categorize them as the same.
tamron 3 years warranty, sony 1 year
sony has local support , tamron distributor has to send the lens to Japan.

that's what some say.. but i've yet to see sony saying officially that their coating is different..
IQ.. so far i've not seen reviews that does a side by side comparison.. all relative right..
but then again.. i've glanced through a couple of review websites only..

there are differences in the number of lens element, that might cause the difference in AF speed..
