Hi admin, mod and advertiser

The sticky threads are growing much longer now. We can obviously see that cs is a good way for sellers to reach out to buyers and it benefited not just the buyers but the sellers and owner as well.

However, I personally feel that it is now somehow has become quite clutter and it is not easy to find things even after using the search function. This is made worst when a single advertiser is selling many different things. We have to go through not just every threads but posts to hunt for things.

I am asking that if it is possible to add a sub-sub forum to categorize the types of stuff that is been advertised in this sub forum and probably a main list for promotion, etc.... This will greatly help any potential buyer searching for something in the mass sale.

Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

unfortunately, a lot of the clutter is self-inflicted by advertisers who post multiple threads, essentially, of the same things. despite the best efforts and advice to tidy up, it is getting nowhere.

fyi - our admin Darren is currently exploring some options to tidy up the place. pls be patient and wait? :)

hmm. perhaps i'm not in a position to comment too much here since i not too sure abt technicalities, but can the threads in mass sales be edited? if possible, could make it a guideline for advertisers to edit their first post directly for any new products. it would help a lot:think:

some ideas for thought...
1. provide sub forums for different category, like one for bags, one for lenses, one for accessories, one for tripods, etc etc. easier for buyer to find things also
2. mandate that each user can only 'open' one thread. in this case, there should not be too many threads hanging around (i'm assuming that there are not that many mass sales sellers). offenders will be given warnings and perharps, ban after repeated warning. To ensure that no multiple nicks are registered, can enforce for sellers to list their numbers or shop name inside to prevent multi-nick registrations

another method is to automatically delete threads that are "inactive" for X number of days...for b&s at least.

1)There are a few sellers here like RDP or Dimage who sells more than one type of category of products so if there's sub forums these advertisers will have to open many accounts.

2)I think each account can open 3 threads in mass sales. There are also some advertisers with mutiple accounts like RDP,sgcamerastore and tago tech:)

1) but since they are making money, shouldn't they do the extra work instead of us doing the extra work to do the post rather than consumer searching for the threads? reasonable?
