Ah yes, tks. In the excitement I forgot to lower my Kelvin setting. Also wanted to post this in the rangefinder shots; didn't mean to start a new thread.
Messed up my white balance. If I had a flag, I'd let them carry it.
Some more eye candy
From the afternoon's Aston Martin event; taken from far away - small aperture, panning shot. Cropped. The 28mm 'Cron still managed to eke out some decent details
Someone's flash went off at the same time
Vettel's car
It was an excellent experience. There were so many cameramen - movies as well as stills. I had to jostle for positions and camera angles, but with very little pushing and shoving (and no hard feelings, they were all very professional and exercised etiquette). At the same time we had to look out for cars and avoid tripping over cables all across the grid - it can get quite dangerous. I got to appreciate how tough it is to be a professional photographer.
Nice! You must be feeling pretty relaxed compared to those lugged those big heavy gear! And you got so much closer! Paddock Club is only for the elite few......

I noticed most of the pro photogs were comfortably dressed - shorts plus polos, vests, etc. With my one camera, one lens, I was able to squeeze in between bodies. It was really hot out there on the grid even though the sun was down and by the time I finished my shirt and jeans were drenched in sweat. We had about 45 minutes and when the call came we had to clear out by 7.55 pm.
