My first thread in IR/UV Photography section. I can't remember what filter is installed on my dslr body, since I bought it 2nd hand, my guess is r72.

Great!

long time no see bro :)

and welcome to IR.

Keep it up!

Very nice shots mate.

You guys have me intrigued.
My earlier I/R shots were with either the Kodak or Konica (both at different times) film.
Now, I use the M8, and a simple R-72 or 720Nm filter. My images end up very red in LightRoom, and I greyscale them from there.
Yours are all colored though, nice in some ways, and I wonder if mine could be as well, if I didn't greyscale them.
Yes? Ideas/thoughts?

Out of camera, my images also come out reddish. I did color channel swap for red and blue channel and it became bluish.

For skintone, I followed the tutorial from here: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/ir-uv-photography/471990-article-edit-your-infrared-photos-chapter-1-skintone.html

OK, thank you, I'll give that a go.

these are very nice bro. somehow the colors are mostly retained except for those IR transmitting items. mine comes out red as well but quite hard to get back the actual colors. i've got a question though, do we need to shoot IR photo during bright sunlight only? thxs for any tips.

For color, normally I do autolevel, channel mixer, and modify the curve/color balance/saturation to match what I want. If it doesn't work, I will simply convert it do black and white.

I can't really say when to take IR photo since I'm also a beginner. Just shoot it whenever you want, you will never know what you'll get. It's the fun of IR photography I guess.

i see, so its all trial n error with the colors n saturation till we get what we want.....i'll try to play with that. to me IR is interesting cos it's quite technical and challenging to portray what we want the outcome to be....i'll keep on following to get more tips n pointers...thxs for sharing...:D
