Uncle Fai is currently in Singapore as referenced from your profile? If that is indeed so, the annular solar eclipse that just occurred this morning on the 21st of May 2012 (Singapore Standard Time (SST) / Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) +8) was unfortunately not visible even in the slightest bit as viewed from this part of the world but fret not there will be a annular solar eclipse directly over us on the 26th of December 2019.
What the article had meant was that there will only be a similar eclipse at their specified location in the next 300 years, there can be between two to five solar eclipses somewhere in the world annually but no more than two of these solar eclipses can be a total eclipse.
