Thanks!

The vis was actually quite good. Some photoshopping to remove some specks and (ahem :embrass: ) air bubbles on the port, but very minimal. Glad you like #5, but i did push up the saturation a little bit, for the effect, just hope I haven't overcooked it.

Regards,
Rohan

Oh wow, very nice pix indeed!!

No 5 showed exactly how HUGE (we think) we are compared to the enormous creature, well taken!

Dang, I wanna see a whaleshark!!!

rohan. finally the pics are in. what did u do to pics 5 and above? very different from the first 4 pics and more pleasing to my eyes.

10.5 lens rocks!

i like 8 the best. beautiful sunburst.

will the video be avail somewhere?

Wow. Nice shots. Must be an awesome experience goin face to face with a whale shark. I'm from the Philippines BTW.

Was it a long wait to see this fish or its one of those lucky days, right spot right time?

Hi Eric

Just played around with the colour levels on Aperture, trial and error mostly. Will apply the same to the first 4 pics and see how that turns out.

As for the video, have to wait a while. Ling (the one in the pics with the Stingray video housing) is kinda busy with work, but she should have it up on YouTube sometime soon. She does really great videos. Will keep this forum posted.

You pics up yet? Waiting for Seewhy's too....

Regards
Rohan

Hi docdeng,

Oh yes, whalesharks are always a surreal experience.

Not much luck involved, actually. Practically guaranteed to see whalesharks in one location within Sogod Bay, between November and April. More details here. Many CS UW photogs have already beaten a path there. I was fortunate to have gone to the location twice within my trip.

Rohan

Whaleshark season runs from November to April. I will be extremely keen to go back next season too.

Wow, I am simply blown away by your pictures. It must have been such a breath-taking experience to be diving with such amazing creatures. I am hoping to do so, at least once, in my life time.

Thanks for sharing! :)

The experience cannot be describe with words :)
You must be there.. swimming with the giants to truly feels how it is like.

And what is good is the money goes to the spotters whom once was whale shark hunters, now they protect the whale sharks and spot them for a living.

This is my fave shot from the trip :p
It was the most friendly whale shark and is ALWAYS there when we arrive :)

While waiting on Ling's video, just thought I would share with you guys some of her earlier works -

***Warning: some segments in the second clip are not for the faint hearted, but the conservation message is loud and clear. ***
