Software for Video Montage, Videography and photography

Please advise......

What software should i use for video montage?

Also, what software should i used to edit videography? I am using Pinnacle Studio. Any other recommedations?

For photography, i think all of us will use Photoshop CS. What other software would you recommend?

IS there any other software that you will recommend for Video Montage, Videography and photography that will increase our productivity and at the same time deliver a higher quality?

I never tried pinnacle Studio before. But I use Premiere Pro to edit video with Magic Bullet and Colorista plugins for colour grading. Premiere Pro also has native support for DSLR footages.

For photo, its definitely Lightroom for me, apart from Photoshop which you already mentioned.

Well if you are talking about spending really serious money...there`s Avid, Premiere Pro and also Final Cut to name a few for video. Lightroom is the best when you need to batch process lots and lots of photos really quick.

i use Sony Vegas. Not tried Adobe products before although i am quite keen to find out more.

For all softwares, i think u have 30 days trial to try...

Heard the new IMovie 11 is really good.
for photo montages, i really think imovie is damn awesome as it has really good presets. Premiere is really flexible, but i sure spent one hell of a long time doing a photo montage recently, where all my effects were basically from scratch!
For projects involving audio and syncing, yeah, the pro softwares will do the job
