How do you answer a colleague who ask you this question point blank.

Sufficient.

Like that lor. Since when got 'ho tan' one.

I don't pay income tax

Enough to make ends meet lor haha

Tell me yours first ;p

would be almost the same for a long time if you're a salaryman

It is actually a rude question and it should not be answered unless it is asked by a really close friend. A rude question deserves a rude answer. At the very least you can just tell your colleague that it is confidential.

Why is it rude?

Should it be inappropriate than rude?

Then again, why should the question be inappropriate?

It's a question which can be declined. Nothing rude or sinister.

i'll tell them to mind their own business and just make coffee.

Report to HR? ;p I thought most employment contracts have pay confidentiality clauses that prevent one from sharing salary information with colleagues.

just say with a lamenting tone... "MOney no enuff ar! Money no enuff!!! haizzz..." den walk away.
