1) Pop in the shop to buy a micro sd (Samsung) from Bizgram @ Sim Lim, ask about warranty, the Indian guy mentioned 1-1 exchange within 7 days, after that 10 years from Samsung, go register online.

2) Same day, cut open the packaging, put in the phone, the sd card cannot be read.

3) Went back again few hours later on same day to the very same guy. He directed me to go to unit #05-03 (found it strange that I have to go to another different unit to get replacement), with a smile, saying not to worry, they will replace. This unit seems like a distributor. He inspected the card, noticed a slight bend at the middle, not at the copper connection points where electronic contacts are made, and blame it on the bend. He checked in the system using the packaging product code, and couldnt find this product code in the system (Now I was wondering where Bizgram get their stuff) and asked me to go back to the shop, saying he cannot replaced this.

4) Long story short, another Indian man attended to me, saying I damaged the card and he cannot replace it. When he saw the packaging I brought in, he kept repeatingly blaming me that I have open the packaging wrongly and damaged the card. I may not be a rocket scientist, but the copper connections points are all alright and it does sit inside my phone, just that it cant be read. And asked me to go Samsung to get a replacement, refusing a replacement

Makes me wonder, if indeed the cards are counterfeit, if the #05-03 unit cant even find this product no in their databse. Well first time visiting this shop and would be the last :) Sweet words when you buy, when you come back, hostile reception.

Under the Lemon Law, the burden is on the seller to prove that it wasn't damaged at the point of sale. I think you may have a case, just a matter of how much time you want to spend pursuing it. Hopefully Samsung stands by their product and you can skip the hassle.

More Clarity on Burden of Proof and Rights Period:
Under the Lemon Law, if a defect is detected within 6 months, it is presumed that the defect existed at the time of sale or delivery and the lemon law provisions apply, unless the seller can prove otherwise, or if such a presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods (for example, perishables and food are not expected to last beyond their normal shelf lives.) Beyond 6 months, consumers can still seek remedies but they will need to bear the burden of proving that the defect existed at the time of delivery.

First of all, the TS needs to verify with Samsung that the card is not a counterfeit card.

Going to Sim Lim Square to buy things, you must be mentally prepared for any unforeseen circumstances, else don't go. Just because of some small savings is not worth the effort and time.

time to call CASE...

First of all, you must pay $50 to register as a member before CASE will take in your case.

Is the card worth more than $50 or more? If not, do you think that it is worthwhile to pursue the case?

Give Samsung service centre a call, or the place where Samsung memory card is RMA-ed. They can help you more on that. SLS shops likes to ping pong the blame.

And do not throw the receipt. If it is indeed counterfeit, Samsung will take action.

This type of shop, the best way to deal is to open and slot into the phone or camera right away, in the shop.

If not working, demand exchange or refund right away

Since 199x, I been to SLS often, cause I got a pit stop nearby, heh heh! Then stops around 2005, hardly gaming liao. Saw on HWZ forums when I about to purchase a new PC, which shop cheap on price etc. Went down, saw those are indian shops, SKIP without much thought! Pay more at other reputation shop is ok for me, at least not double but I got what I wanted. Those newly open ones, beware, they could be bad reputation shop before, closed, reopen with a new name. We don't go there and monitor most of the time, right? Recently the mall got blacklisted shops names on a piece of paper pasted on the wall of the lifts, those shops owner tear it down. They could be very nasty, so, no customers went in, you better not.

My Sandisk brought from there, been told by another shop that there is a problem on that batch. Problem really surfaced and luckily, I got replacement but must go to sandisk center, quite troublesome lor. Maybe nowadays QA are bad, all cut cost, that's why memory cards can be faulty so easily. Hopes TS can get a replacement anyway.

i got my sandisk (grey/red) micro sd from the top floor of sim lim from a expo sale..got a lemon..changed 3 times at sim lim..finally...write a email to sandisk USA..got it RMA 2 months ago from sandisk taiwan.
