I have been here for almost 3 weeks. The weather this week is really great. On most afternoons, I can almost sit in the sun and bask in it while feeling the cool breeze. It feels like being at the Gardens by the Bay, except that the garden is in our own backyard.

I had been bored until I rediscovered that I had my camera (kinda lame, the excuse. I have always known that I have my camera with me all these while). I had almost forgotten about it. Taking pictures is a fun way to keep myself occupied. Taking macros is extremely fun, especially when I have all the time in the world now to do it.

So, here, I will post at least once a day, the progression of Spring to Summer, and finally to the Fall before I make my way back to the sunny island.

I hope to get to get connected with friends from Singapore when I am overseas. How I miss Singapore! :lovegrin:

The first day of spring for 2016 was actually the 20th March. I had been at our home for almost a week then, however, it was rainy and gloomy, not to mention it was also cold (by Singaporean standards). It did not, could not, felt not, at least, like Spring. Coming from someone who had lived all her life in a country which has no seasons, I should not sound like I know all about the seasons.

Maybe if I wait a while longer, it will feel better.

Maybe the feeling of homesickness will subside.

Maybe...:cry:

Spring in Tacoma - Japanese Maple

Good things come in pair!

After looking through the photos of these Japanese Maple, I realised that the leaves come in pair and there is a bunch of flowers with the pair.

Everyone will find their partner one day and something good will come out of it! :lovegrin:

Spring in Tacoma - Japanese Maple

After noticing that these maple leaves come in pair, I noted how interesting this picture is, there is a pair of leaves and when they overlapped, there is the shadow of their overlapping leaves in the shape of a maple leaf too! I don't know how you feel about it, but this is one of my favourite accidental capture.

Wonders of nature!

During the winter, this plant was bare (and really not visually pleasing). I have four of such Japanese Maple around the house. We were told that the leaves would be flaming red. Well, just by looking at the bald plant, we could never really imagine what it would be, red.

Finally, when Spring came, from the buds emerged crinkly leaves which I thought looked dead. I would never have imagined that it would open into such magnificent maple.

Flaming red and beautiful.

Given time and patience, one can expect surprises, even though from the looks of it, nothing good could come out of it.
