Btw... the differences between the different 'brands' as I see..

- Ripvan has the retractable 2 straight pin plug (US type).
- BigBelly has the fixed 2 round pin plug.
- w3cube is said to be bringing in the corded version (2 round pin plug?). Price yet unannounced.

Hi I"m interested, how does it perform? does ti come with batteries?

those interested in the charger pls contact, PM, email whatever to my dealer EASTGEAR ok?

price is $35 and availability is end of Nov. Confirmed.

the charger is really compact, lightweight and handy which makes it suitable for travelling and furthermore it supports the auto voltage which makes things really easy and fuss free. no extra cables or transformers to tag along. Just a 5-6g plastic country adaptor.

it also possesses the discharge then charge function and supports AA / AAA batteries of ANY capacity. Of course charging time increases as capacity increases.

Drawback? I am going to request for a faster version of the charger. Hopefully technology will be available to maintain the size of the charger but contain a transformer which can supply perhaps 1A per channel (like the GP Smart) but of course at the same price.

anyway does anyone have Sanyo 1850 to lend me? I need four pieces and i want to do some testing on it. I have a battery analyser. for this, you can PM me.

spread the word around.

Any warranty? No stock now at you shop?

1 year warranty.

no stock. coming by end Nov.

EASTGEAR will announce.

How come a jump in price of $11? From $24 to $35?

Pre-order your RipVan100 clone chargers now. They are from the same manufacturer as RipVan100. This is the latest design. Slicker compact design, no need to wind messy cables around the unit.

if mass order, can discount or not? :D

Confuse ? Is the charger comes with floder flat plugs or fixed round pin plugs ?

I think should be fixed 2 pin.

yes. round 2 pin plugs. the flat ones are for US market.

:dunno: But on HWZ I tot it was assumed to be SGD?

Anyway like isomer said, mass order got cheaper price? and I think the US pin would be better in terms of compactness cuz can fold away inside the body of the charger, and to use here can easiyl buy the round pin adaptor.

for mass order, you have to ask EASTGEAR. He's the man...

Anyway it is true that the foldable pins would be more compact. I will keep this is mind.

However hope that you understand the most Singaporeans would rather have the round pin plug type. Take a look at the real thing and you will find that it is not as bulky as it seems.

The reason this model was chosen was due to the simpilicity for use when travelling. If you use the flat pin type, you would have to use two plastic convertors, one to convert from flat to round and then next to use the 3 pin plastic adaptor.

Imagine if there was an additonal cord invovled. While travelling we want to have as little small bits and pieces as possible. I'm in the diving business and I travel very frequently and hence I only want my charger to be the 'plug and play' type.

Anyway it is up to individuals choice and once again I will keep the requests for the flat pin type in mind. ;)

Just saw your posting after i post mine in the buy and sell category. i agreed with you that it lost its compactness with the 2 fixed pin.

Cant they learnt from motorola HP charger design. My motorola HP charger comes with a 2 US pin to 3 legged adaptor.

With this feedback, maybe BigBelly can consider to bring in some retractable 2 flat pin version next round. Don't make life difficult for him lah.. As for those who wants the retractable 2-pin version now, u can still order from the Ripvan website, try to order at least 2 piece to save on the shipping cost. Last time I checked, it's about S$50 per piece if u order 2.. :)
