While writing the introduction, i just remembered some things on LF. Last year (around this time), myPaper did a write up on LF photography in conjunction with Chow Chee Yong's exhibition. They interviewed Roger and me to understand the hobbyist LF scene in Singapore. I am not sure if the article article will help. However its written in Chinese.

Pat, please update again as can't see the article.

I just want to add that for my own photo, it's going to be a bit of a problem. I will wait till Kingston gets his replacement scanner, then get my shot scanned asap and then send for printing.

It will be cutting it tight but all should be ok.

Just got my scanner in the mail today in good working order, will work on getting it set up...but I should be able to start scanning in a day or two.. If any one needs their film scanned, just let me know. :)

According to Benjy, what's required for the write-up is a description of the photograph, not a self-introduction.
Please confirm.

I recommend that the word-limit be 150 words.
Since the longest one I have received and edited thus far is around 119 words.

So for those who have yet to churn out your write-ups, please take note.

To help you get started:
- why you took the shot (is there anything particular significance?)
- how you took the shot (natural lighting, studio, out of a helicopter)
- what you took the shot with
- what you want to achieve with the shot (world peace, etc)

Here are some examples, you don't have to go on and on - it is up to your discretion:

________
A short and sweet example:

This image was shot on a Rolleiflex 2.8E on Acros 100 in 2011 when my wife and I visited Shirakawa-go, Japan.
Despite having travelled quite frequently in winter, this was my very first encounter with snow.
Everything just looked so surreal and beautiful. The entire landscape was blanketed in snow, a sea of pristine whiteness coupled with willowy branches weighed down by crystalline ice.

________
A lengthier and more thorough description:

All three shots were photographed at a nearby nursery beside my house under natural lighting conditions.

The Orchid, being our national flower, can be found easily in many parts of Singapore.
Due to its ubiquity, we often take it for granted and fail to appreciate its beauty.
The Orchid is a truly stunning specimen of nature; with its slender stalk leading up gracefully to an intricate flower consisting of precisely three inner and outer pedals and a distinctively cupped petal.
The entire composition is exotic and almost alien-like – extravagantly flamboyant yet possessing such delicate intricacy and elegance.
Using a large-format camera, I hope to capture and convey the magnificence and grace of our national flower to my fellow Singaporeans.

________
Something in between:

I never got to asking him for his name after being brusquely rejected for a portrait.
His accompanying group of friends were intrigued by my ‘old-fashioned’ camera and commented on how silly I was to still waste money on film.
This eventually led to us discussing the economy and rising cost of living in Singapore.
The jovial group of elders further regaled with their tales of hardship and how much Singapore has changed.
It was during the conversation that I managed to sneak in some shots – as the saying goes, old habits die hard.

Guys, I have a problem with the team fund.

After adding my own $50 (total 18 people participating), I noticed that I only have 17x50= $850.

One person's fund is missing. Until I figure where is that missing $50, I just want to be upfront about this matter and bring it to your attention.
