hi , may i know is it the vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5-5.6 MC marco focusing zoom lens can be use in nikon d90 ? by using what type of adapter?
Thanks.

There is one for the Nikon mount at a later stage. Just need to find it.

http://www.kenrockwell.com/vivitar/70-210mm.htm

There were more units sold for the K mount (?)
I have one for K mount by Kiron on a Ricoh XR-X or K-r.

The one on the Nikkor mount has the same performance as the K mount.
Good quality control in the 70s 80s by Kiron.

There are 3 versions of vivitar series 1 that are good. Those made by Kiron, Tokina and Komine. They were made in various mounts and I got a copy by Tokina in Minolta SR mount (also commonly described as MC or MD mount). It's the smallest and lightest amongst the 3.

Look this up

Oops saw your ref in the first thread post.

But my 1 the lens filter size is 52mm, so what is the version for this lens?

The Tokina ATX 17mm 3.5 AFD so far not really can find a piece for my D800.
in the ebay is quite expansive some more, but in the B&S is always miss out.

Mine is 62mm but f3.5. You can look up the ref site link to determine the manufacturer vivitar used to make your lens. Typically its based on the 1st 2 digits of lens serial number

This is the Kiron 70-210 F4 for Pentax mount. I use it on the Ricoh XR-X.
This lens is comparable with Nikon 70-210 F4 AIS. Both comparable.
I will post comparison shots later.

I have one, the Tokina ATX AFD 3.5 with the metal hood. Honestly, it is not a very sharp lens (tried 2 samples), but hold on to its own.
The colour not as saturated as Nikon. I find the second used priced too high.

Its better to know it now....

I am not sure which is the modern offering of Full Frame 17.5mm lens. Tokina may well be the best candidate.
But, do not pay more than SGD300 for this lens.

But so far got mine Sigma 14mm f2.8 HSM used on D800 is not really sharp even stop down the aperture :(

But I'll still got a piece of Tokina 20-35mm f3.5-4.5 AF in 1st version of fully metal design with the 67mm hood also. This is really works well as D800.

Full frame camera like D800 will demand better lenses. I am waiting for mine (September deliver) to test out the old AFD AIS lenses.
I had the Tokina 20-40 2.8(?) AF many years ago. Did not really like it, but could be the C41 film processing was badly done.

For Sigma, need to check if the focusing AF is correct? I use MF most of the time.

What about the tamron 17mm f3.5 adaptall later version?

Have anyone used it before? Quite pricey last I checked with alexphoto penisula.

Thanks.

Hi, last time I have a question on the tokina 17mm f3.5 ATX non pro.
Now I have the lens already and felt no regret on shots with my D800, even set on f5.6 still sharpen image.
Just said this is good lens on full metal built :)

After shooting with 50mm for 99% of the time, I've switched to the 35mm focal length(I'm using a Nikkor 35/f2.8 AI-s). One thing I hate about it I the lack of focusing range, it goes from 0.3m-2m-infinity. Would be nice if it goes up to 5m
