Anyone know anything about this ballhead? Thanks!:D

http://www.tocad.com/npbh.htm

It is selling at $115 (w GST) at Cathay. A tension control ballhead at that price seems pretty cheap, just wondering how tough it really is.

No idea. I'm a little wary of SLIK, though it looks pretty decent at first glance.

well, any advise what i should be looking for when buying a ballhead?

My set-up now weighs only 1kg, but am looking for a ballhead with tension control..currently using also a SLIK tripod (700DX).

it also allows for panning if I'm not wrong.

also, why not consider Larry Slik ballhead? It does not have tension control but would be good enough to handle your equipment and still have quite a bt of room for future expansion.

For a 1kg load, your camera support is overkill..

Yes, it allows panning, which i also find quite useful, quite a good combination, and that price is pretty decent.

Larry Slik? How much would that be?

Have been using 3 way pan heads, so no experience with ballhead, i am paranoid of the camera sudden movements if i release the catch too fast? Is this unfounded?:dunno:

i've lowered my asking price to a cheap cheap $45... happy to let you try it out before you decide. one thing to note though, my ballhead has no qick release.

I'd think so!;)

You should always have a hand on the camera while adjusting so it shouldn't be a problem.

Larry-san,

Thanks, let me try it out at Cathay first, they have one on display, and get back to you.
:D

larry-san,

thanks for your offer, but after trying out both at cathay, i decided to go with the Pro 800, because the panning function is quite useful.

But to be honest, the tension control on the Pro 800 not as fantastic as i thought it would be, still the panning is good for my use. So thanks again, and sincerely hope you can sell your ballhead.

:)

in the eternal words of Arnie, "no problemo" :D

enjoy the Pro 800 mate!
