If Parisilk HV is selling at that price, looks like not worth it....

2x 8GB = $90
original EL6B = $130
cheapo tripod = $ 20
EOS pro bag = $ 30 or maybe 80 for crumpler 5mdh

Can some one complete the sum please?

1x 8GB = $45 (Parislik should also give 1 8GB CF)
original EL6B = $130
cheapo tripod = $ 30
EOS pro bag = $ 30 or maybe 80 for crumpler 5mdh

IMHO, SITEX or any other PC show will not get good deal.
INHO again, should be able to wait a while for anyone who wants to get a free battery, sometimes Canon SG will give away additional batteries, thus will be able to get it if purchase 7D from shops (like MS, CO, AP.....) and claim from Canon Keppel Bay

I was there, the only offer worth considering is the PwP for the flashgun 580EX II for $599.....

I wanted to get a 580 exII can I piggyback on someone who don't need the flashlite to pay the offered price? I pay $620 for it. Anyone?

Anyone has details regarding any 500D offer at Sitex?
Thanks.;)

nowadays IT fairs do not have those good offers as before, even for laptops.. the only thing that you can seriously look at is LCD TVs..

dropped by Sitex today. Canon DSLRs are not cheaper than shops in Funan, just that some come with 2 memory cards and user guide. To me, it's not worth it to go all the way to Expo and squeeze with the crowd (if you live in the West). However, you're free to try out the cameras there (but vivo still better).

I wanted to test the Sony A850 and Canon 7D..... Only low end models available for testing.... Waste of time to go there. Anyway, it is a known fact that Sitex is the smallest show among the 4 IT Expo.

The one in March and September will be better. Wait for IT 2010 around March. It will be big, Sigma will be there. Most likely to be in Suntec.

That's exactly why people have been telling others here don't bother to go if you are just looking for good deals in camera gear. You can get what you want at a lower price and most of the time get the same freebies as in the show. Most of the promotions are island wide and not specific to SITEX only. Plus, you don't want those useless freebies anyway.

I will second that! Most shops such as MS can help to reduce the price down by taking away all those "unneccessary freebies". What's left are those essential ones. I don't mind going there to see see look look and get something worthwhile along the way but after visiting all the shows for the past few years, it's a definite NO to buy cameras during these shows, just my humble opinion.

IT show is always the largest with most people going, reason is because most people would have collected their bonus! :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

CF and not SDHC right...?

SDHC is selling at $26 over at SITEX.

The free battery that comes with the 500D looks very attractive.
Don't think the usual shops would reduce price by $130.

Also there is a purchase with purchase for the 270EX.

Just bought my 7D this afternoon from Parisilk HV. Paid in cash for the following:

7D body - $2375 with GST
(comes with 1 8GB Scandisk Ultra CF, 1 EL6B battery, Canon pro bag)
Extra EL6B battery - $120

Total $2495 cash and carry. Now charging the battery...
Forget about SITEX, you save $$$.

I check both cathay n MS color today they offer me $1150 for D500 with 8GB card, bag n user guide, without tripod n battery .

My frd managed to get these freebies at SITEX. 2 8GB SDHC, EOS bag, user guide, tripod, extra battery, screen protector, UV filter. For 1299. You can always ask them to throw in more freebies.
