Was planning to buy an Ext HD for archiving purposes. Yesterday, while reading the newspaper, I thought I was in luck, Max*** is selling 500G Ext HD for only SGD150++, as advertised in the paper. But was quite disappointed when I got to EXPO and found out that the correct price is SGD370++. The guy simple explained that the ad in the paper is wrong. :o

Typo Error or a Gimmick?

370SGD is still an acceptable price for a 500gb..
branding and quality wise.. in question.

You're right man, 370 is still ok for that brand. But you can still get better prices from other brands though. But that's not the point...

Points is, how the heck did they miss it? 150 is way off 370... Terrible!

seems like HN in monopolising the sale price of DSLR.
tot mayb thr will be gd deals @sitex. disappointing.

tink will spd more time @BBTZ

just came back from there...

forget it if anyone wants to buy cameras. canon, nikon, fuji and oly are 'represented' by HN.... (Image Stablizer ON, anyone? :bsmilie: ). only sony has their own separate booth. memory cards - only SanDisk is there offically... and they are buried right at the back of the hall in one small corner. no sight of lexar's official booth.

but, if u wanna buy laptops and printers, offers galore.

leave ur cars behind.... i was there at opening hour and the car park was already 3/4 full. by 12pm, the car park was closed off by the cisco guards. fyi - apart from sitex and BBT, john little's is having their warehouse sale at the same time.

Do they have lotsa LCDs? wanna get 1 big big screen one.

nothing much...mayb i have nothing to buy in mind...CF price is higher then SLS even is from the same vendor that also has a shop in SLS.

just bought myself a 250GB 3.5" seagate ext HDD (std type) at $149.

2.5" seagate 60GB ex hdd at 99, maxtor 1 touch III mini 100GB at 149 with a hdd pouch.

I'm very happy.
Last week I was looking at the Canon scanner... 4200F, was out of what I wanted to spend, and at sitex I got it for $99.. so happy :)

for those wanting to buy HDD. check SLS price first.. price at expo seems high.

those 3rd party brand of ext hdd...ya seem higher if i remember..

but Maxtor n Seagate ext hdd is quite ok...

Panasonic did not participate?

Maxtor 300GB 7200rpm IDE $156, SATA $153 at SLS

saw tat ...price of 2g i tink $2++ if not wrong....

The extreme 4 2gb by the Sandisk booth is $209 i think, but at another booth, dunno is it Best Bargain if i hasn't remember wrongly is $189 or something.

Actually not a lot of LCD screens, as compared to the last I.T show. But this time they are cheaper... The last I.T show i saw BenQ, Viewsonic, LG, Samsung, Phillip, & other china & Taiwan brand.

This times seems to have only LG, Viewsonic & Phillips. LG wins hands down in term of attractiveness of booth & models available. The Phillips ones seem old fashioned & expensive. They win telling ppl tat their high contrast of 1400:1 is better. It really seems to be so looking at the display images compared to Viewsonic & Phillips.

The price of the LG seems very reasonable.
