Hello to all who submit on 15th June between 2pm to 2.30pm,

How long is your 'brief description'?

Mine was too long, a paragraph!

yeah they only asked for when and where was the photo taken. so my description was like "2006, under Fullerton Bridge." LOL
yeah last time my school had an exhibition and we were on a tight budget, so we basically bought A0 boards and penknifed all of them for 50++ photos! :dunno:

mines like

"why i sent the picture in"....
i like it as..
hope you like it...:D

PS...any one saw a lady outside the place earlier today?...abt 2-2.30:)

We have a mat cutter in my school, so the job was much easier. You should request your teachers to get them for your next exhibition, I CANNOT picture myself cutting up so many mat boards with a penknife.

Don't worry, I doubt they judge what description we wrote. Anyone wants to show their submitted pics?? :embrass:

a mat cutter?? i do know we have a cutter but it cant fit in the mounting boards cos they are too thick. haha and we bought a 45degree Cutter! wow. imagine doing window frames for 50+ photos.

We use those pro Rotatrim ones leh, leftovers from my school's former Art Club. We also have a 45 degree bevel cutter, but damn hard to use...

We have an exhibition coming up, and the mats aren't cut yet. Hell is approaching :o.

Coz I think the purpose of the whole competition is not to select the best looking pictures, but the best photographer.

This award is very different from other competitions we've seen so far... tough :(

Would be interesting to see their definition of 'best'. Sure everyone is excited about the results, but I hear lots of people are joining.

Well, their definition really depends on the preferences of the judges. And from what I can see from their website, there're many of them judges from the numerous organizers and sponsors.

Tough to win, and definitely even tougher to live up to the name of Singapore Young Photographer. Something similar was held in the past, and the photographer (Ernest Goh, I think), became someone famous.
