You don't have to be a commando to go to Airborne School. All you have to do is to qualify for the Airborne Course. But of course, it's compulsory for commando trainees to go through the jump course before they are conferred with that famous red beret.
Those huge monsters are the C-130 Hercules, or known more affectionally in amongst those in the SAF as Charlie One Thirty.
