Managed to get 2 tix for tomorrows show Wont be brinign DSLR since the objective is to enjoy with my GF.. this is gonna be my first time watching fireworks...

didnt manage to get the tickets.. i heard from my friends that my CO was one of the committee members of this years fireworks celebration .. gave the tickets to the DXOs .. nsfs never get :bheart:

anyway, i will be catching it.. maybe from merlion or somewhere else.

I've been to the NDP preview..The gap between the seats in the gallery is very small. I cant even mount my tripod properly. Hope you guys will have no problems taking photos tml.

I had no problem with my tripod. Just don't open that wide.

I saw 2 SAF's floating pontoon on the bay and some set up on the floating platform... Guess these are the places where the firework will be launched. 1 of it is quite near to the waterfront area. However the papers wrote that there will be 4 launching points. Will be quite fantastic i believe...

Went up the bridge. Set up tripod and before i can even take our camera from bag, mata come and say bridge close. Cont all the way to end of bridge, walk down the stairs, bash thru the construction site and shoot from below the bridge. Not a very good spot coz abit too near to launch pad but at least get to shoot some smoke. :bsmilie:

Bridge may be close tomorrow night as well so do take note. :dunno:

Odd.. i thought the bridge was damn crowded. Which bridge are you talking about?

In any case, if you can figure out where the wind is coming from, the best place to shoot would be with your back to it.

Going for Team China Show tomorrow, other than shears bridge (in case it's close), any other better view?? (i went to shears bridge just now for Team Spain, view not to bad)

Went there today.

In fact, I rather pity those who paid for the event, and were expecting to see fantastic views - as the fireworks came and gone, the entire cloud of smoke went right INTO their faces.

This was especially so when the fireworks were launched from the stage itself, and with the wind direction going towards their faces..
