Most Festivals Celebration in Singapore is celebrated in the Night.
Chingay 2008,Parade Of DreamS-Asia's Grandest celebrated during the Chinese Lunar New Year is one of them.

Im new to this but can someone tell me how to do the 'concave' at the bottom of the photo? Must use a different lens? And what kind of shots is suited for this type of shooting?

The "concave" in this series is due to the Fisheye lens.

Hi , Welcome to this forum.
I chance on this Photographic Concepts It might help to clear some of your doubts and questions.
Have a good understanding about Exposure, Shuttle speed and Aperture . Happy shooting.
 

thanks! ive slowly been getting the hang of em, just need to fine tune it so i can adapt to when to use what to maximise great shots.

any tips for me? I am thinking to try it at the next Chingay. I think it is on 30 and 31 jan next year.

Hi ME New, welcome to CS and glad you like those shots.
Go there earlier to get a good spot if you don’t have ticket.

Decide what you wish to capture (close-up shot or the entire event in W.A)
In this case, I just armed with a FE lens without tripod and flash.

I was using D200, the max ISO that I would set to prevent grainy pix is ISO 800.
Not a problem for higher ISO if you are using D300, D700 or D3.
