I once brought a tourist to one of the camera shops in the ClubSnap recommended list. Sometime later, he was walking by Lucky Plaza and they quoted him an even cheaper price. I got blamed for not bringing him to the cheapest possible shop 
. But to my knowledge, I don't think most locals here in Singapore recommend Lucky Plaza as a place for the best bargains on cameras.

I tot it was to do with the country. When I was in the States a lot a few years ago... I could buy something, and then return without question. I did not try buying from any Asian stores though... ;p

It was reported in Lian He Wan Bao(I think tt's the paper I saw) and the boss being interviewed revealed that the salesperson was inappropriate and was sacked.
But you really believe he won't appear in SLS anymore?:bsmilie:

For all you know... there could be syndicates working behind the scene...
Sales-people in chop-carrot shops move around in SLS... so at the end of the day, always go to reputable shops to get stuff... and not try to save $20 on the item you wanted to buy, only to find you got chopped in other things you bough there...
So he paid $430 more(with a 32gb sd card from the first shop mind you). What does he want? A refund? Shouldn't he be asking around other shops for a comparison before he buys anything? Why sneak around with a hidden cam when you got beaten to the trade. Consider it a lesson. He'd probably do the same if he'd paid $50 more. What kind of loser sneaks around with a camera and then post on youtube?

maybe the guy who blasted vulgarities was the actual boss, the guy interviewed was just an employee...haha..endless possibilities to "blacks shops method"...buy at trusted stores for ease of mind.

could well be...
i was helping a fren some years back to get back $600+ for a wide angle adaptor. her mom wanted to surprise her by buying her a wide angle lens for her birthday, but an SLS shop talked her mom into buying a wide angle adaptor for $600+. the whole birthday surprise was spoilt.
when i went to the shop with my fren, they refused to do any refund... and one of them say need to wait for the boss... so we waited. when the apparent boss came in... i asked if he was the boss and he said no... so up to now, we still dunno who the boss is... (maybe the boss is the one who said to wait for the boss) but we did not want to leave the shop. they threatened to call security which i kindly told them to please do so. the security came and we left with them.
at the SLS security counter, we talked to the security personnel and he said that he is glad that we are safe. i was curious and asked why, and he said that just the week that passed, a lady got conned, came back and demanded her money back, and she got "attacked".
so... who knows what goes on in such operations...
