OH NO SEND YOUR CAMERA FOR REPAIR, NOW!!!

Just kidding bro :D I agree with earlier posters that many camera users are extremely paranoid; contrary to popular belief the camera is quite durable. At least for your case putting it in low RH for a couple of days probably won't do any harm to it.

Btw I saw an earlier post asking if anyone knew where to get the wave foam for Digicabi, which is still unanswered.

I'm also looking for that wave foam, does anyone know if any camera shops (or any other shops) sell it?

Still looking for the foam that I mentioned in the previous post. Anyone knows where to get it?

Shouldn't most DIY hardware shops be selling those sponges? :dunno:

You can always cut the sponge down to size in order for it to fit inside your dry cabinet.

HomeFix doesn't seem to have it, or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. Shall visit it again over the weekends

Place your silica packs near the hygrometer, if after awhile it still doesn't register a drop then high chance it is faulty.

If it drops then send in the drying unit to Digicabi for repair

Should comes with 5yrs warranty if u still have the receipt.
Anyway meant the humidity drop, but since u mention u dropped the unit I don't think they cover cosmetics defect for misuse.
For that matter I don't think the drying unit so flimsy la. U send both(drying unit & hygro) in lo, just don't mention u dropped the cabi and live with the external dents;)

I believe lz8user is referring to a dry box without any dehumidification unit rather than a dry cabinet.

I use Thirsty Hippo with the foil partially opened to regulate the RH and put my cam in my trophy cabinet. Once the RH is at the level I want then I leave it already.

Hi Bros, been so long since I have came back to this thread, anyway just a heads up I saw an analog hygrometer for sale at Daiso :) Hope the stocks hold up! but note that it's not for the picky since it's not very accurate but it's good enough for my purpose (backup) or for traveling .. :)

Those don't even seem to respond to changes in humidity levels... or is it just mine. ..

As long as you know how much it is 'off', by comparing it with an accurate hygrometer. Mine can vary by about 10-20%. It's a dangerous $2 if you consider that it may give some a false sense of security...

IIRC, comparison of the entire batch, those belonging to the minority are the more accurate ones.
