SIGMA SD-1 Flagship

The user manual only say Type I UDMA Compatible.
I should think that it could use higher speed CF cards as the controller is built into each CF card unlike SD cards which does not have builtin controllers and depend on that in the camera body.

I was looking for a recommended and tested compatibility list from Sigma like other manufacturers do.

What speed rating has your card and do you think it's fast enough?

I'm still chotto undecided if I should invest into SA-mount lenses...

Are you sure you want to buy a Sigma DSLR? Pardon me for saying that the SD1 is definitely not a camera for pussies .........

I don't think anybody who dare to consider getting a Sigma DSLR is a pussy. It takes guts to tread where few dare to tread. ;)

What's your experience with the SD1m and why did you sell it so fast?

i love the SD1! i've already achieved what i wanted with it and if only i could send to you some pics+raw to see. or you can view some at: Flickr: couleurdamour's Photostream on the SD1 set. now that the DP1M is also available, its dream come true for me as i shoot mostly travel photography.

Thanks for your link!

It seems the write speed doesn't improve at all with cards faster than 30MB/s: ‰¿Ši.com - wCFƒJ[ƒh‚̑̊´‘¬“x‚ɂ‚¢‚āx ƒVƒOƒ} SD1 Merrill ƒ{ƒfƒB ‚̃Nƒ`ƒRƒ~Œfަ”Â
Looks like I can save the money for UDMA7 1000x cards...

.... the raw files are 45MB each. A faster CF card can cut the lag when you are uploading and editing the files on your PC. :)

that is correct, thats why i used the 90mbps extreme CF card

Have you tried shooting tethered? does the image appear fast when saved on a computer or does it take a long time to show up?

.... never fancied using the SD1M to shoot xmms but I did ....... :p
(other than resize and crop, pictures are not retouched)
