Sigma EF 500 DG Super Vs SB600

What do you shoot to warrant such a high GN? SB600 works well in normal portraits and even macro... so unless I am going to do birding and add a flash extender, I don't think I'd need the extra range the SB800 provides...

i only said sometime i do wish to get higher GN... not commonly.

Well... for me, it's economics... No point for me to spend twice the amount for the sightly higher GN which I would not use all the time. ;)

Hi people. I have a query... Hope you guys can help

I am quite torn between the two flashes :dunno:

Can someone advise me whether the
1) Sigma EF 500 DG Super
Or
2) SB600
will be better?
Their prices are roughly the same for first hand if i am not wrong.

In term of value for performance, which will be better?

Will the sigma be able to trigger other other Nikon Speedlight as a commander?
And can it be triggered by a Nikon Speedlight commander as a slave?

Nikon has their creative lighting system CLS, I am quite puzzled whether the sigma will be able to perform in this usage.

Because I am unable to find much information.

Maybe someone had encountered the same problem as me? I am currently using a D70s and Sigma looks quite decent.
Hope someone can help. Thx :D.

I dont think meTz can work rightZ?

MetZ will need an adapter on you cam body but like Sigma dont think work better in nikon CLS.
The good thing on MetZ is that by changing the adapter it work on my "C" system.

If price not different much just go for nikon no firmware issue like MetZ.

For me I use any flash that do the job.

YMMV
