Sigma APO 70-300mm F/4-5.6 DG MACRO USER

I am considering getting this lens. The macro is 1:2, but is there any way to make it 1:1? As in like will closed up filters or other add on stuff help to increase to 1:1?

yea . with a macro convertor it can go up to 1:1 i think . i am new here so dont trust me on this :P . but u will lose some stops though

im quite new to this lens, and i know its an awesome outdoor lens. any tip or advise when it comes to shooting indoors with it?

contemplating to get this lens for a upcoming golf event . not sure if its wise to use it at 300mm to take the golfers in action (they will probably be fairly still)

Hi, anyone owns the 70-300mm with OS? OP selling at $7XX where as SLRR at $6XX. Can share info for this OS version before buy this Len. Thank you.

for instances theres a crowd, and you are shooting from the back?
is it hard to shoot at 70mm as well??

For day shooting, 70-200 is fairly manageable. At 300, you need steady hands and set to burst.

Have not tried indoors so far. But i guess you need to bump up the iso if flash is not allowed or too far to reach.

If you are worried about the lens without the IS/OS, try with whatever lens you have at the longest end and turn off IS. If its blurred, like are at 300mm, the blur will be amplified.. Keep practicing, just a matter of control.

How is the image quality of this lens with the 1.4x extender on a 450D? Will auto focus still work? Can anyone with experience with it comment? Thanks.

the len's build in motor, does it work on a nikon d5000?

if have BIM, it will work with the D5000.

However, if i'm on a budget and getting a Nikon mount lens I'll get the new Nikon 55-300Vr

I'm using the DG 2x. Images come out to be soft. At 300mm fully extend and with 2x, hand held and manual focus (AF not working), these are the 4 pictures below. Exif metadata doesn't record as 600mm.
