can check with Alan photo @ SL saw two of it

Can check John 3:16 too. Saw it there a few days ago and I think it's selling for S$1050.

Thought this could be a good walkaround lens. The 70-200mm looks tempting, but the weight is killing man.

I am shopping for a lens which I can carry during weekend. I mainly shoot my kids during weekend outing. Recently use my 18-70mm at the pool side. Feel handicapped at 70mm. Now thinking whether 150mm should help.

Anyone like to share their experience?

this is also a good portrait len too buy this or a new body

does anyone know when the tokina 50-135mm is being released? I like tokina more than sigma because I have a bad experience with a sigma 20mm f1.8, too fragile.

I'll be buying one of these in the next few days.. I was trying it out at cathay the other day..
It's a really good portrait lens.. I got bowled over by the bokeh.. the 9 blades aperture is simply amazing.. Given the close focusing distance, it's simply amazing.. very nice creamy bokeh..

Focusing is fast, though in low light it seems to struggle abit, but no different from the 70-200f2.8L. Might be just my body though..

The weight is VERY nice, the feel of it is superb, the lenshood is solid..

hee I'm in love with this lens.. Cathay selling at $1130.. slightly more than others from what I know..

wondering if the sigma 50-150 here in singapore yet??

anyone seen it or perhaps looking out for it ?

Wait for others to feedback and also wait for Tokina version 50-135mm and compare. Sigma is a hit and miss, sometimes get good one sometimes no.

Tried at Alan Photo on my D80, images don't seems very crisp sharp, personally feel it is kind of soft. See if I can final that images, try to crop and post it later.;)

Any comments from experts out there?

The images look painterly even though they're at ISO 200.

I just saw a review of the Tokina 50-135 f/2.8 lens in DIGI (HK photography magazine). It doesn't look very promising either. What's worse is the weight: 845 g.

But I will also like to warn you that single reviews may not be completely reliable due to sample variations.

yes.. judging from the pics as shown here, the lens quality is only barely make it..and it kinda defeats the purpose of f2.8

but i wonder if that is because of jpg compression when posting here..

btw, how much is it ?

Are u using flash ?
Try not using flash...shoot at 2.8..check for sharpness..
