Hmmm from the pictures I see so far, nothing shouts out to me that this is a good lens to get.

But then again, it might be user error. But the inability to mount any kind of filters is a big big disadvantage.

i am thinking of the big brother , sigma 12-24 for ff... that one is worse than this 8-16 in terms of sharpness...

The fireworks shots are very blur, even though the buildings and fireworks should be focused at infinity.

There maybe enough room to correct the perspective distortions in your 2nd fireworks photo. That will make it nicer.
