OMG 840, they are definitely out of their mind... most ppl rather get the "original" at nearly 1/2 the price. make no sense to buy a 3rd party at 2x the price.

I think the higher price is due to the HUGE front lens element! :bigeyes:

But the lens does look amazing! The Bokeh is very sweet and sharpness is respectable :thumbsup:

Price is still :sweat:

Sometime we can't forget when is the lens was launched because technology advances everyday, maybe Canon will come up with a MK II version of f/1.4 and it may surpass the Sigma once again? At this moment, this Sigma 50 f/1.4 is the "L" in its lens collection.

Last I know, the lens doesn't focus itself, the camera focuses the lens. Its performance in low light is thus dependant on the camera.

If you're talkin about brightness etc... It's a 1.4 lens, you get what you bought.
