Looks oof to me.

Looks fine to me. The focus point is on the dog's nose. Maybe the picture I uploaded is not a high enough res.

Hi all just saw on Sigma website the 30mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM version. Is this the newer version to the DC version? Anyone has any comments?

Think should be a typo. dc is for crop. dg is for ff. The lens size and price of a 30/1.4 for ff will be totally different.

Thanks buddy! Went down to Funan today planning to get the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 tried 3 copies and all had back focusing issues. Worse one of it kinda rattled while I tried to focus in on the subject. Can have it calib at CS but after I encountered these issues sadly I lost all confidence!

Maybe because you didn't key in the right terms.. its 50mm f1.4.. not 1.5.. try again

is calibration a must for this lens? thinking of getting export set which cost less than $600.. local set is around $700 right? with 2 free calibration and longer warranty.. though am not really concerned about warranty..

Hmm.. it depends on your luck..
And also if your body has any micro adjustments to compensate for it if its not that bad..

This is rather unfortunate, I just lost my 62mm lens cap for my Sigma 30mm f1.4.

Does anyone know where I can go to buy an ORIGINAL Sigma lens cap? If not where can I find third party replacements? Would prefer the original though.

hi guys,

just to check with everyone, do other users of this lens experience back focus problems at greater distances say ~3m or more? my lens works pretty well close up and at slightly higher f-stops, but sometimes at larger distances it tends to misfocus...even at higher f-stops like 2.5-3+

yes. i have alot of focusing problems when its far! when its close its a great lens. but generally i wouldn't say its a great lens.

Purchased this lens 2 days ago and have not had any issues with it. This was the only copy they had and I was lucky it was perfect on my camera. Only thing i realized is this lens produces nice images at f1.8-f4.. Tried shooting wide open nice bokeh but not exactly sharp in the middle but I use this for street photography so its perfect.
